New Mums failing to bond with their baby.

the results of a new survey which has found that almost one in five new mums have experienced moments where they've felt no bond with their baby. This is often due to the unrealistic expectations that they're placing on themselves in terms of what they think they 'should' be doing and feeling. The survey also found that new mums are crying out for realistic reassurance.
In answer to this Johnson's Baby has launched a series of audio shows, hosted by celebrity mum Melanie Sykes and Baby Expert Eileen Hayes - eight frank episodes of real life experiences from mums on bonding that work to show new mums and mums to be that they are not alone. The series of audio shows can be heard by going to: www.babycentre.co.uk/johnsonsbabypodcasts and the survey results are attached.
Please also see the attached for further information, if you have time please have a listen to the podcasts and let us know what you think!

Fun Day - April 13 2008

Good morning
My name is Jo Kilby and I am a player and Development Officer for Camp Hill Chargers WRFC, a national level women's rugby team in Shirley, Solihull. We operate u15 and u18 contact teams and even a Mom's/Social TAG team and next Sunday (April 13th from 12.30-13.00) you can see us all in action as well as enjoy a fun, friendly festival day out.
With the support of West Midlands Fire Service we have plenty to see and do - from finding out about how you can play rugby (any age, ability, gender catered for) or info on the Fire Service, to grabbing an ice cream or a hot-dog, to even picking up a bargain from our CD stall.
There's also a brilliant samba workshop onsite all day and a bouncy castle, face-painting, henna (temporary) tattooing AND a Virgin Vie counter…..as well as bake sales and some serious rugby to boot.
A super £1000 raffle will also be doing the rounds as well as an opportunity to see something perhaps totally new…...did you know that at Camp Hill rugby club upto 20 women meet each week to enjoy TAG rugby, most of whom who have never even touched a rugby ball before? No? Well, see them in action from 2pm.
As your truly local community sports organisation, supporting women and girls, Solihull Mayor Allport and MP Lorely Burt will also be present to enjoy the day's events…...if you and your organisation or club would also like to come along, we'd love to welcome you to Camp Hill and our annual Ladies and Girls Rugby Festival Day.
